Basis of comparison

All results are compared in reference to one configuration represented by the setup "Male – Euro NCAP Testing position - Middle", which adheres to the requirements of the Euro NCAP Whiplash tests. Resulting loads from this configuration are considered to be "standard" loads. Different seat setting descriptions such as high, low or equal, always refer to the above setting and will inform the user of the rating the seat would receive, i.e. more or less favourable in general.

Seat settings

This seat configuration shows the seat back set in the backward position (10° further back than in Euro NCAP tests).  The head restraint is positioned in the highest of the variable positions.

Conclusion

This seat configuration shows the backrest set in a far backward setting which leads to high forces and moments in the neck.  The overall results are therefore less favourable than when the seat is set in the "standard" seat configuration.
