Basis of comparison
All results are compared in reference to one configuration represented by the setup "Male – Euro NCAP Testing position - Middle", which adheres to the requirements of the Euro NCAP Whiplash tests. Resulting loads from this configuration are considered to be "standard" loads. Different seat setting descriptions such as high, low or equal, always refer to the above setting and will inform the user of the rating the seat would receive, i.e. more or less favourable in general.
This seat configuration shows the seat back set in the forward position (10° tilted forward in relation to Euro NCAP guidelines). The head restraint is positioned in the lowest of the variable positions.
Simulation video clip
This seat configuration results in slightly increased forces and moments and much lower accelerations than in the male "standard" configuration. Overall the rating for this setting reaches the standard loads, considering the reduction of thresholds for female occupants.
