Basis of comparison
All results are compared in reference to one configuration represented by the setup "Male – Euro NCAP Testing position - Middle", which adheres to the requirements of the Euro NCAP Whiplash tests. Resulting loads from this configuration are considered to be "standard" loads. Different seat setting descriptions such as high, low or equal, always refer to the above setting and will inform the user of the rating the seat would receive, i.e. more or less favourable in general.
This seat configuration shows the seat back set in the middle position (the same as used in Euro NCAP tests). The head restraint is positioned in the lowest of the variable positions.
Simulation video clip
In this scenario forces, moments, as well as accelerations were increased in relation to "standard" seat settings for males. This lead to a slightly increased load level on occupants´ necks.
