Basis of comparison

All results are compared in reference to one configuration represented by the setup "Male – Euro NCAP Testing position - Middle", which adheres to the requirements of the Euro NCAP Whiplash tests. Resulting loads from this configuration are considered to be "standard" loads. Different seat setting descriptions such as high, low or equal, always refer to the above setting and will inform the user of the rating the seat would receive, i.e. more or less favourable in general.

Seat settings

This seat configuration shows the seat back set in a backward position (10° further back in relation to Euro NCAP guidelines). The head restraint is positioned in the centre of the variable positions.

In this scenario forces, moments, as well as accelerations are increased in relation to "standard" seat settings for males, which lead to a slightly increased load level on occupants´ necks.
